DOUBLE Feature of the Week

new-2

Feature of the Week will be posted every Monday where a band or artist chosen by myself or someone interviewed will be highlighted to you with a short description and a song of theirs will be added to my Spotify Playlist.

This week I’ve got 2 Featured bands for you because last night I discovered them at The Hope and Ruin supporting Exploder Than You, and they both deserve a listen because they were excellent and I hugely enjoyed seeing them (and E>U) play! Continue reading

Interview With Marcus Gooda (The Yacht Club)

Fall‘, The Yacht Club’s third release, is out tomorrow (Friday 25th November) so I thought it was fitting to talk to Marcus, who I refer to as the mother of the band (since TYC is his baby). Marcus is truly passionate about his music and the band, so read on to hear all about the mind behind the EP.

“TYC will exist in some capacity as long as there’s breath in my lungs.”

Review – Into It. Over It.

On Wednesday I had the pleasure of seeing Chicago band ‘Into It. Over It.’ at The Lexington in London. Into It. Over It. (IIOI) are an Indie / Emo band whose music combines sad undertones and lyrics with energetic instrumentation. I’d not listened to or even heard of them before going to the gig on Wednesday so I didn’t know what to expect, but it ended up being one of my favourite gigs of 2016.

Interview – Rabbit Ear Records (Christie)

Last week I interviewed Christie who fairly recently launched her record label Rabbit Ear Records. I was lucky enough to be there for the launch gig, which she had made a wonderful, hand-made mix-CD for every person there! (photo below). I feel like that’s what sums up Christie’s approach best – it’s homemade but wholly professional. She makes sure everyone is catered to and likes to put her little touch on everything she does, and puts her whole heart in it.
