Feature of the Week will be posted every Monday where a band or artist chosen by myself or someone interviewed will be highlighted to you with a short description and a song of theirs will be added to my Spotify Playlist.
This week, my feature is Ducking Punches!
Marcus Gooda, creator of The Yacht Club has just announced he will be guitarist for Ducking Punches, so I thought it’d be fitting to talk about them.
I’ve never seen DP live, but they’re playing in Camden on 27th January (poster at the bottom of the page) so I’m hoping to get along to that to support Marcus and see these guys for the first time!
Ducking Punches are from Norwich, UK and have recently had a line-up change. They combine sadness, love and angst to create some wonderfully empowering songs that make you feel good. Music like this is the sort of stuff that brings people together! DP’s instrumentation is quite like Frank Turner’s – Punk, but varying from more chill to totally energetic but it’s always super fun and angsty, so have a listen through their back catalogue on Spotify during a free afternoon of yours because I really enjoy the variety in their music.
Below is their 2016 video to Greedy Bones!
Check out their Facebook for more info on their 2016 tour! Below is the poster to their gig in Camden on the 27th run by Xtra Mile, so come along if you can!
