Welcome to Wave 2

Tomorrow carysmegansound re-launches thanks to feedback gained and research conducted for my critical study university module the blog was originally set up for. Here’s the poster to show you what’s going to be different!

Feature of the Week will be the same as it was before, where a band or artist is highlighted to you with a short bio and some song suggestions. Tuesday Tune unfortunately hasn’t made the new schedule, but the new Feature of the Week will be a combination of the old FotW and Tuesday Tune.

Throwback Thursday you can probably tell is where a song from the past is suggested – I included this new feature because of how popular the movement is on other social media sites, and everyone loves a good classic track.

Saturday Sound is the new, possibly most important development in the schedule. It will be a weekly roundup of music news including:

  • Music news from the past week
  • New music releases from the past week
  • Upcoming local and underground gigs

Interviews, reviews, articles and one-off posts will still be posted but they will not have a dedicated day.

I’d like to thank everyone who has patiently waited the couple of months I paused content while I finished my degree, and I hope new and current readers will enjoy what’s ahead!

carysmegansound Presents…

This coming Monday (6th March), I will be running a Launch Night for my release of ‘Adventure, Fantasy and Beautiful Scenery’ – an acoustic EP written by myself and performed by Anja Elise and Alex Bramwell.

Come along to see some wonderfully talented women perform! I’ve written a short bio about all the performers below:

Anja Elise is an American singer and violinist, currently studying Popular Music at university here in England. She performs for the Rochester City Orchestra and has sung on various projects such as Abbey Road – a show of Beatles music. Her influences include Lyndsey Gunnulfsen, Hayley Williams, and Hannah Georgas!

Hollie Foster has been a singer-songwriter for about 10 years and is currently working towards her first release. Her influences are mainly John Mayer and Bob Dylan and she performs in an acoustic folk-pop style!

Sheya Lily is a 16 year old musician who has been performing since 2013, regularly busks as part of the BuskinLondon scheme and was a finalist in the 2016 Mayor of London’s GIGs busking competition!

Side Note: As this blog is run only by me, I haven’t had the ability to create content for 2 weeks due to being busy with this event and university work. Normal schedule will resume on Monday 13th March for 2 weeks, and then I will be taking a hiatus on Monday 3rd April and I will return on Monday 1st March, where the schedule will change slightly and you’ll see carysmegansound mk.2!
